Mt. Salus Christian School desires to assist parents by providing their children with godly and excellent understanding of the Creator's world that they might fulfill the blessing of "subduing the earth."  In addition to an excellent faculty, we are constantly refining our school curriculum.  Below is a list of this year's subjects and texts.

ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM

Bible

Conservative, evangelical materials are used teach students to apply the Bible to their daily lives; weekly chapel services are held for all students

Language 

A Beka grammar Grades 3-6.

Social Studies

MacMillan/McGraw Hill and A Beka emphasize our American heritage and world geography.  Grades 2-6.

Math

SRA/Open Court is one of the highest rated math curriculums by Mel Gabler's Educational Research Analysts.

Science

A Beka for Grades 2-6.

Reading

Open Court is time-proven curriculum for successful grammar school reading

Writing

Zaner Bloser has been improving and refining their fine handwriting books for over 100 years.

Spanish

Children enjoy a weekly lesson in Spanish.

Physical Education

In addition to being outside during morning recess, our students have weekly P.E. classes and a weekly health course.

Music & Art

Students are encouraged to explore and develop their musical and artistic abilities in weekly classes.

Service Opportunities- Our students are encouraged to demonstrate their faith
in service to others. Service projects in recent years have included Samaritan’s
Purses Christmas Shoe-boxes, Horses for the Handicapped, Spring Break
Mission trips to Guatemala, Special Olympics, Stewpot, 4 C’s, Hurricane Relief
and yard work for the elderly.
